Seems to me the recent movie theater shootings received a lot more press and interest than the Sikh temple shootings. I get it at one level - more killed, and a public place with more diversity.
Should we be more worried about the mentally ill or hate groups?
I know for a fact in our old neighborhood the precinct neighborhood officers watched some mentally ill people, and a joint agency task force watched some individuals and groups because of drug, gang and homeland security reasons.
Should our government be engaged in watching the mentally ill and domestic groups in same way international hate or terrorist groups are watched?

I heard the doctor who was treating the Joker broke her confidentiality agreement to notify police.
I pretty sure law enforcement monitors domestic groups. Not sure about nut jobs, since their condition is wrapped up in medical confidentiality, and whether or not they will dress up like the Joker and shoot up a Batman movie is a pretty hard diagnosis.
