Do you care if your favorite sports person take somethings to enhance their performance?
If you are against, why?
The only reason I think it is an issue is because it provides that person with a possible advantage over another, but equality or level playing field in performance seem to me to be an utopia that cannot exist.
While I appreciate 17 year old Missy Frankin's accomplishments, if rather she had a 5 foot body with short limbs, all the desire and hard work in the world would not allow her to compete at world events.

I'm consuming two of my favorites right now - homemade rolls and good coffee for breakfast. Thus, my opinion is good.

Seems like the line between "drug" and "supplement" is getting harder and harder to define. The guy who eats right, stays in shape, takes legal supplements, trains properly, etc. is going to have a huge advantage over someone with the same exact talent who doesn't do those things. So, we're already far beyond what is 'natural.'
I don't like players using banned substances because that is cheating, but I do question whether or not it makes sense to ban some of the stuff that is banned.
My favorite baseball team is the Giants, so we just lost one our star players to a 50 game ban and I along with most fans have been upset at him for cheating and letting down his teammates.
Last night on MLB TV, they had a guy on who is an expert on this stuff and he said what a lot of players do is use a steroid cream that is very short acting and is used after workouts to speed recovery. That type of use might be something that could be tolerated since it falls along the lines of what is already legal and acceptable. But, then it also opens the slippery slope to other stuff.
It might even make sense just to let them do what they want to do, and let doctors get involved. There was a show on one of the cable networks a few years ago, perhaps with Bob Costas, where they did an investigation of the dangers of steroid use. The found that when steroids are used properly by adults, that there isn't really any long term problems and that the people who are normally associated with long term steroid problems like Lyle Alzado actually suffered from other issues not even related to steroids.
So, like many things, there is a lot of misinformation and a lot of emotion about this topic, and I think a discussion about it is a good idea (here and in the general population).

Speaking of Bob Costas, he has obviously used something on his face like Botox of a face lift. Would that be considered performance enhancing?
