I hear you. I talked to one of my friends (who is way "left" of me) about joining the discussion, but she felt she would lose her temper and say things she wouldn't ordinarily say face-to-face.

Good ole Charlie being himself. Just trying to show you how you came accross to Linda and anyone else who disagrees with you, Todd. Not that I really consider your a SOB or have anything against anyone hear personally, that Rhapsody chose you as a moderator and for your to exemplify the arrogance and unrepentant spirit you have makes me question her standards. You create a lot of drama when none is needed. Your participation in this thread introducing CF is a prime example. It's Tod, not Todd. My name is in the signature of all my posts if you need a reminder.

According to the text, the man had several demons. If I were making any analogy it would not be about you personally but what is going on inside you to being changing usernames three times in a week. First of all, I have not changed my user name three times in a week and second, how do you know what is going on inside of me?

I hear you. I talked to one of my friends (who is way "left" of me) about joining the discussion, but she felt she would lose her temper and say things she wouldn't ordinarily say face-to-face. To date, the only members that I notice loosing their tempers, leaving (intolerance), and insulting others are from a liberal view. If one is far left they may share something with the far right and that is never having to defend their position and opposed to being challenged. A forum such as this provides a venue to moderate those extremes. The far left perhaps thinks they have science and intellect on their side and the far right thinks they have God on their side. This is presumption. It is important for me to have you stick to your views and stay in the game. Again, now that I know that you are the owner, I appreciate the platform to discuss ideas. Do I think Todd is a pompous ass, yes, but I would not hesitate to help him if it were in my power or share a nice micro brew. I can separate the discussion from the person.

First of all, I have not changed my user name three times in a week and second, how do you know what is going on inside of me? Didn't you go from Kai-el (sp?) to Woolwiz(sp?) to Gojira? If not, I am confusing you with someone else and I apologize. I don't know what is going on but it looks like you are not able to stay away and stop responding to my posts like you said. Since this is not the first time you have gone and come back, why not just live with a bit of dysfunction and stay in the game?

If you look at your profile settings there is your user name and your display name. I signed up under Wolowitz (a character from a tv show) and used Kal-El as my display name. When I deleted my account the display name disappeared and only the original user name remained on my old posts.

I wonder if the system will allow me to use Kal-El again as a display name? I will try it. So if this post reverts to Kal-El we'll know it works!

I don't think you can change your user name. I could be wrong, but I think you need to cancel your account and make a new one.

Appears to have worked. I will try to behave myself, Bill. Happy as Hades your back. Of course, you if do not believe in a literal Hades, just glad you're back.

I think for short-term crisis management, they are useful. Not sure I'd want to be on them long-term, were it me. But I'm a fighter and I think that makes a difference. My eldest had anxiety issues which mostly disappeared when we changed schools. Change of environment was what he needed to get out of the spiral, and since the school provided a more positive environment, his anxiety was not reinforced. Contrast that to three years of therapy prior, which reinforced his anxiety and simply made things worse (and nearly broke up the family to boot!). Again, I'm tough so while the problems stressed us all, they didn't break us.
Some issues are organic, I understand that. For instance, hypothyroidism can cause depression, and the proper treatment is to threat the hypothyroidism, not the depression, at least long-term.
